PEER SUPPORT
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
There are many carers in the East End of Glasgow. According to one statistic, there are as many carers in the East End of Glasgow as there are in the whole of Edinburgh.
Getting together with other carers can help you realise that others are facing the same challenges as you. It gives an opportunity to share what has helped you, where to go to get help on particular matters, find out more about the condition that your loved one is living with.
We have a number of support groups that meet regularly, some monthly and some twice monthly. See details below.
Carers who are registered with the Carers Hub can also keep connected via our WhatsApp group chats. Just download WhatsApp free-of-charge on your smartphone and text the relevant staff member below.
Our WhatsApp groups enable carers aged 18 or over with similar caring roles to connect and share experiences, resources, ideas and support and to keep up with activities at the centre.
WhatsApp allows you to raise and discuss issues with your peers as they arise and to know that you are not alone.
Carers Hub staff will be on hand to provide answers and ensure that information shared is as accurate as possible and that conversations are relevant and appropriate.
