It's been a busy month at the Carers' Hub with our wellbeing programme back up and going again. Check out the list of activities that are on Mondays and Wednesdays. Wellbeing at the Hub
Our Wellbeing programme is underway with lots to help you deal with stress, enjoy some time being creative, or just get out of the house for lunch. We have Music & Movement, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Crafts, Singing and other wellbeing sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. Christmas and New Year
Our Christmas events are over and we enjoyed seeing every one at the lunch, the wreath workshop and the craft session. Christmas Events at the Hub
Christmas is coming and we have several events planned for the season at the Carers' Hub. You can sign up for each event through the links below or call Harriet at Reception on 0141 764 0550. On 1st Dec, 10am - 12pm, there will be a workshop to make a Christmas wreath with willow and natural materials, then the wreath can be re-used and redecorated for other seasons of the year. New staff at the Hub.
Over the past two months we have had three new staff join the Carers Hub - Lorna, Louise and Ruth. We had a Meet and Greet event in October and invited carers to come and get to know the new team. Lorna and Louise will be working with Adrienne as the support team for carers and Ruth is the new Hub Manager. Lorna is the Autism Family Support worker and Louise is providing support for Parent Carers and Older Carers. We look forward [...]

New Vaccination Information For Unpaid Carers – 15th February 2021
DELAY TO GROUP 6 VACCINATIONS SCOTLAND The Scottish Government expects a delay to the start of Group 6 vaccination rollout – including unpaid carers. This phase was due to begin week commencing 22nd February for those known to the Scottish benefits system and NHS with all remaining carers following shortly after. The reasons for the delay are due to a higher-than-predicted uptake of the vaccine together with available supply. Latest Vaccination Information For Unpaid Carers 5th February 2021
Scotland’s unpaid carers will begin to receive Covid-19 vaccination from week commencing 22nd February. Phase 1 – starting 22nd February Those already identified as an unpaid carer via Social Security Scotland and the NHS will begin to receive letters with a scheduled appointment. The letter will give information on how to change your appointment time and location. You’ll be able to do this by phone or by logging into an online portal. Additional Funding for Unpaid Carers
January 2021 This month the Scottish Government announced an additional £750K for unpaid carers in Scotland. Extra funding to support unpaid carers - gov.scot (www.gov.scot) Funding will be administered to Local Authority carers services, by Shared Care Scotland. It comes in response to concerns about increasing pressure on carers – particularly while many traditional respite breaks are restricted or unavailable. Carers Hub & Create Live! Zoom arts project
Glasgow East End Community Carers is joining Create Arts to run a 7-week visual arts programme for carers and former carers registered at the Carers Hub. Sessions are free of charge and will be run by Zoom on Wednesday mornings from 10.30-12.45. Unpaid carers are a priority for the COVID-19 vaccine. The information below will tell you where you are on the priority list. Unpaid carers aged 16 - 64 are included in group 6 on the priority list for the COVID-19 vaccine. Unpaid carers aged 65 and over will be offered the vaccine earlier as they are included in groups 2-5 which cover the whole population aged 65 and above.
